I went into the hospital with full blown back labor (which I feel like no one is educated about- it's all about abdominal contractions). I wasn't feeling any contractions in my abdomen, just a constant pain in my lower back. I had my water broken a few hours after getting to the hospital. I went from feeling zero contractions to having contractions that went from 0 to 1000000 (and progressed from 3cm to 8cm) in the matter of 30 minutes. I never knew my body could possibly handle that much pain! Epidural it was!!! It was a life saver. One downfall to my epidural is that I was in SO much pain that the anesthesiologist gave me so much medication that it slowed my labor progression which made me need the drip. 45 minutes of pushing & my precious babyboy arrived
